“Writers Unleashed”

 

This past weekend, February 22–24, I attended the 8^th Annual International Writers Conference & Book Fair, hosted/held at the Biblioteca (Library) Los Mangos, and sponsored by the Puerto Vallarta Writers Group. This has become an important annual weekend of panels, workshops and seminars for writers, readers, and literature lovers. I now have attended two conferences, having missed last year’s affair due to a serious event requiring my attention back in the states, and the value of what I leaned from established authors, agents and  other presenters is immeasurable. 

Additionally, the chance to network with these presenters and conference attendees is a valuable and fun experience.  One of the presenters was an author that both Dolores and I enjoy very much and I was able to have some great “face time” with her – thanks Jinx.

Even though I´ve had the pleasure of seeing me in print in several newspapers and magazines I´m still a “wannabe.”  I do have plans and hope to publish my memories’ and do some short stories.  Having the opportunity of being around conference attendees, both published and unpublished, is an invaluable opportunity to become educated about the business and craft of writing.
